How to choose fluoroelastomer?

Fluoroelastomer can be divided in following ways.

A. Curing system
B. Monomers
C. Applications

For curing system, there are general two ways: Bisphenol curable fkm and peroxide curable fkm. Bishpenol curable fkm usually owns the features of low compression set, which is used for molding sealing parts like orings, gaskets, irregular rings, profiles. And Peroxide curable fkm has better chemical resistance and mechanical properties. It has great resistance to steam. It can be used in smart wearables or Lithium battery.

For monomers, there are copolymer which is made by Vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP); and terpolymer which is made by Vinylidene fluoride (VDF), tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP). FKM copolymer has 66% fluorine content can be used in general application. While fkm terpolymer has fluorine content about 68%, it can be used in harsh environment which requires better chemical/ media resistance.

For applications, FUDI supply molding, calendaring, extrusion grades fkm. And we also supply special grades like low temperature resistance grade GLT, high fluorine content with fluorine content 70%, steam and alkali resistance grade FEPM Aflas, excellent chemical resistance grade perfluoroelastomer ffkm.
